Another fantastic week at GEO!
We celebrated a birthday (always a highlight!) and had an absolute blast on our early release field trip to Fun and Games. The kids who completed their Aleph Champ reading got to enjoy turns with the body bumpers and boppers—it was a hit! They were thrilled and stayed busy with it for quite a while.
Monday: We kicked off the week with some Tu B’Shevat learning—what does the name mean? How are we like trees? Through crafts and play, the kids explored these ideas in a hands-on way.
Tuesday: in Morah Elana's class - Students continued diving more into Tu B’Shevat, discovering that we are all like trees in Hashem’s orchard. They created their own orchards and discussed how we can grow into beautiful fruit-bearing trees through mitzvot. And in Morah Hadassah's class - the kids explored the art of Pointillism, using tiny dots to create tree-themed masterpieces.
Wednesday: in Morah Hadassah's Class - The children learned about their great-great-grandparents, Avraham and Sarah, and their incredible kindness. Avraham and Sarah’s tent was open on all four sides, welcoming guests from every direction. Inspired by this, the kids worked together to build their own tent with four openings and set up a cozy area under the “tree.” It took teamwork, trial and error, and plenty of cooperation, but they did an amazing job!
Wednesday: in Morah Batya's Class - The kids enjoyed a beautiful mock Shabbat meal. The girls lit candles, and together, they sang Shalom Aleichem and made Kiddush. They even tackled solving some fun Shabbat challenges to test their knowledge.
It was a week full of learning, creativity, and meaningful moments. Can’t wait for another great one ahead!
