SESSION ONE - 10:45 PM - 12 AM - Late Night Learning

Topic:  Saving Yourself versus Saving Others!

A social-learning course where participants grapple with case studies and texts.

A Trolley is running out of control down a track. In its path are five people who have been tied to the track by a mad philosopher. Fortunately , you can flip a switch which will lead the trolley down a different track to safety.  Unfortunately, there is one person tied to that track. Should you flip the switch?

What is our obligation to other, and to ourselves?  Can we ever sacrifice one life to save many others?
What principles can help us solve these kinds of problems?   What does the Torah say?

Please join us as we delve in with texts, discussion & debate.
