Join us on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:00 PM for an exciting and memorable event! This year's Annual Lag B'Omer Community Bar-B-Que will feature performer, Yoel Sharabi in Concert as a kick-off to celebrate the writing of a new Torah. A scribe will be present to begin writing the first few letters in a Torah which will be presented to the Chabad Center Synagogue in Natick upon completion.
Please join us in writing history...
As a tribute in honor of her esteemed parents, Rabbi Sholom Dov Ber and Rebbetzin Devora Kievman, ob"m, and in memory of her sister Batsheva Roiza , ob"m, Mrs. Battia Ruderman has initiated a campaign to dedicate a Sefer Torah for the Chabad Center Synagogue in Natick. The Kievmans, while modest and unassuming of character, have left a great legacy of piety, erudition, and devotion to Torah. They are also the grandparents and great-grandparents of the Fogelman family in Natick.
A Sofer (Torah Scribe) has been commissioned for this task. Following the concert at the May 12th Lag B'Omer event, the scribe will begin writing the first few letters onto the parchment which will become the Torah. An historic opportunity presents itself for the Metrowest Jewish Community to participate in the writing of this Torah Scroll. Indeed it is an honor and a great mitzvah for each and every family to join in and become partners in this community Torah. When the Torah is near completion we will have a joyful celebration to dedicate this great new addition to our community. As the scribe, pious and skilled in his field, copies the letters of the Torah's final verse, we will realize how fortunate we are that our new Torah scroll is the latest link in a holy and eternal chain.
